Chapter 25 Chariot and Horse Zhi
Chapter 25 Chariot and Horse Zhi
After completing his cultivation, Fang Chen took out talisman paper and cinnabar, activated the power of his spiritual platform, and used the Heavenly Seal as a seal to imprint it in mid-air.
In the blink of an eye, a talisman had taken shape between his fingers.
It is a prayer mantra.
The destiny of this world manifests itself in the mysterious five-colored clouds. Those who are blessed by this destiny can overcome calamities, obtain opportunities, and receive blessings, making them truly the chosen ones of heaven.
Although this talisman is far less profound than that, it can still enhance one's spiritual connection in the unseen world, or help one avoid disaster, or amplify a glimmer of hope in desperate situations... it can be said to be extremely mysterious.
At that moment, the talisman turned to ashes, and the unseen spiritual connection suddenly became clear.
Fang Chen's gaze fell on the box in front of him. It was made of metal with a menacing texture, yet it did not exude any sense of danger.
His expression turned serious, and his brows furrowed slightly, as if he hesitated.
The Zhengyang Dao classics record:
There are specific methods for storing all things.
For ordinary medicinal herbs, wooden or stone boxes are sufficient. For spiritual objects, however, boxes made of high-quality jade or wood imbued with spiritual energy for a hundred years are required. Higher-grade spiritual objects will dissolve in water, wither in wood, burn in fire, and perish in earth. Only by borrowing the indestructible nature of gold and combining it with the five elements of metal can their spiritual essence be sealed to prevent leakage, thus preserving their medicinal properties for hundreds of years.
Legend has it that there are even more rare treasures in the celestial abode, which are things created by heaven and earth. Without the power of one's primordial spirit and the protection of celestial treasures, even if one obtains them, one cannot keep them and they will turn into smoke and clouds in an instant.
This item was sealed in a metal box, so it was clearly no ordinary item!
However, after hesitating for a short while, Fang Chen took out a talisman, wrapped the secret box with his magic power, held his breath and focused his mind, and slowly opened it.
As soon as the box was opened slightly, a ray of clear light shone through, and clouds and mist drifted out, ethereal like smoke and mist, truly extraordinary.
Once fully opened, the contents were clearly visible—
Its shape resembles a reclining ox or a running sheep, with the postures of the six domestic animals vividly portrayed. It is surrounded by clouds and mist, with wisps of mist seeping out from its body, lingering and indistinct, making it appear as if a living creature is about to move.
Fang Chen's pupils contracted slightly.
He immediately recognized the item as a [Chema]!
Spiritual beings in this world are divided into three categories:
One type is called a spiritual object, born in a place rich in spiritual energy. Its essence is still mortal, but it contains a trace of innate spiritual energy. If a cultivator obtains it, it can help with cultivation, temper the body, or learn compatible techniques, and gain an initial glimpse into the mysteries of the Dao.
The second is the [Earth Vein Spiritual Root], deeply rooted in the dragon veins of mountains and rivers, coexisting with the local energy and fortune, taking a hundred years to form. It can not only serve as the foundation of a sect, but also as a cultivator's trump card. With prolonged nurturing, it can give rise to various miraculous phenomena.
Thirdly, there are rare treasures from celestial abodes, mostly found in ancient grottoes and the former residences of true immortals. Each one possesses the power to penetrate heaven and earth, capable of altering the feng shui of a place, evolving the dragon veins of a spiritual land, and even influencing the great fortune of mountains and rivers. They cannot be obtained without great fortune.
Although the Chema Zhi is listed as a spiritual object, it is a very special one because it has growth potential and can grow with the cultivator's cultivation. It can gradually become a spiritual root of the earth vein from a spiritual object, and if it obtains the creation of heaven and earth, it may one day be reborn and become a rare treasure of the immortal mansion!
The "Record of Diverse Things" by Zhang Hua of the Jin Dynasty states: "The chariot and horse fungus was transformed from seven chariots and horses during the time of Yao. Those who could obtain food could ride on clouds."
The Zhengyang Dao scriptures further state its ability: "It coexists with the human body, allowing officials to inhale the purple qi at night and draw upon the moonlight from the heavens at night to protect the soul and spirit, shielding it from the scorching heat of the moonlight and the ravages of the sun..."
It aids in spiritual practice, protects the path, and even has the potential for growth... truly a guardian spirit that young monks and nuns dream of!
How could the Fang family possibly provide this item?
And would you really give it to him?
Fang Chen's mind raced, and he repeatedly scanned the Kunlun Mirror, observing it over and over again, and found no hidden dangers.
I couldn't help but make a decision.
Since I've already taken it, there's no reason to return it. At worst, I'll just abandon this avatar and return to the mortal world!
Upon realizing this, he immediately began the refining process.
First, force out the essence and blood from the heart, turning it into blood mist, which gradually permeates the body of the mushroom.
After the blood mist seeped in, a warm, glowing aura gradually appeared on the Zhi body, synchronized with its breathing, as if it were alive.
Then place it between your eyebrows and repeatedly connect it with your spiritual sense.
As time passed and the sensation became clearer, the chariot and horse sprouted countless fine roots, as thin as hair, which slowly probed into the brain.
Wherever it passes, a gentle warmth arises, without the slightest discomfort.
Finally, it completely merges in and disappears from sight.
In an instant, the three souls and seven spirits underwent a sudden change.
The soul, which had been in the process of forming but not yet fully formed, now seemed to be covered with a thick layer of armor.
This armor is neither gold nor jade, but rather formed from clouds, mist, and smoke. It flows endlessly, as warm and smooth as moonlight, as ethereal as clouds and smoke, neither white nor blue, seemingly there yet not there, protecting the soul from all sides without any gaps.
With a slight thought, Fang Chen's soul broke free from his body!
With the help of [Che Mazhi], although he had not reached the Yin God realm, his soul could directly leave his body and roam the mortal world!
Looking down, one sees a physical body sitting upright in place, breathing deeply and evenly. Looking at oneself again, one sees clouds and mist swirling around one's body, as if riding on clouds and mist, like a celestial being.
With a thought, I drifted out of the room, where a gentle breeze blew in.
That wind is extremely poisonous to ordinary spirits, causing them to feel as if they are being cut by knives or burned by fire. Yet, as it brushed against them, they felt no pain whatsoever, only a gentle and refreshing feeling, like a spring breeze on their face.
Look up at the moon.
The moonlight, like water, poured down, yet there was no discomfort or burning sensation; on the contrary, there was an indescribable comfort.
What a wonderful protective spirit object! It can even allow a soul to experience the power of the wandering spirits of the underworld!
For some unknown reason, Fang Chen suddenly felt inspired and instead of returning to his physical body, he rode the wind and soared into the sky.
Find a secluded spot, take to the air, the wind whistling in your ears, yet vanishing in an instant. Clouds rush towards you, then disappear without a trace... I know not how high I flew, nor how far I flew.
When I came to my senses, I was already floating in the air, standing in the sea of clouds.
Despite their reservations, they dared not touch the Nine Heavens Qi, yet they were already thousands of feet above the earth.
He stopped and looked into the distance.
Looking down upon the vastness of the universe:
The bright moon shines, its light shared by all. Mountains and rivers rise and fall like an ink painting unfolding; rivers meander like dragons and snakes in a brushstroke. City lights twinkle like stars; village smoke rises and dissipates into the night. The scenery changes with the seasons, and dawn and dusk are all different. All things are encompassed, and everything is taken in at a glance.
As the saying goes: Absolutely stunning!
Looking up at the vastness of the universe:
Gazing upon the vast sea of clouds, a boundless expanse of silver waves, the bright moon shines like jade in the void. Stars, like chess pieces, are scattered across the sky. Amidst the surging clouds, celestial palaces appear and disappear; where the moonlight flows, it resembles a celestial river turning. Heaven and earth are utterly silent, all spirits and phenomena are speechless. Vast and boundless, its limits are unknown.
As the saying goes: With whom can one find solace?
Nothing more than the bright moon, the gentle breeze, and me!
Fang Chen stood there stunned for a long time, completely captivated.
A hundred years in the human world is but a fleeting moment. The vastness of the mortal realm is but a dream... What does it all amount to in this boundless universe?
Those cultivators, who spend their days feeding on the clouds and the air, are obsessed with immortality, sacrificing their spiritual energy to enrich themselves and seizing creation to satisfy their selfish desires. In the end, they bring about the calamity of the Dharma's decline, causing the oceans to turn to ashes, mountains and rivers to perish, and transforming the world into a turbid and evil realm.
People say this is the pursuit of the Tao, seizing creation from heaven and earth, seeking immortality in nothingness, and seeking transcendence in the distant horizon.
Little did they know that the Great Dao was not in the so-called celestial realm, the Dao Ancestor's primordial energy, or the mysteries of creation, but rather in the clarity right before their eyes!
Heaven and earth are self-sufficient, and all things complete their own order. The magnificence of mountains and rivers is not increased or decreased by human intervention; the mystery of clouds and moon does not arise or cease due to pursuit… It is precisely because of this magnificence and mystery that the Great Dao is worth pursuing!
Fang Chen stood with his hands behind his back, his clothes fluttering, gazing at the bright moon with a clear mind.
Suddenly, I recalled the words of the ancients:
"To ride the immortals and roam the heavens, to embrace the bright moon and live forever. But this cannot be achieved in an instant..."
At this point, Fang Chen paused for a moment before saying, word by word:
"Moto's echo lingers in the mournful wind!"
