The Primordial Era: Starting from Being Forced to Become an Apprentice of the Three Pure Ones

Chapter 62 Becoming a Saint Through Loans

Chapter 62 Becoming a Saint Through Loans

"Very well! Then let us borrow! Today we borrow merit to become saints, and even if one day our bodies turn to ashes, we will surely fulfill this great vow and revitalize our Western Paradise!"

Zhunti roared, and then the two of them rose into the air at the same time, making an unalterable vow to the Heavenly Dao.

"My first vow is that when I become a saint, there will be no hells, hungry ghosts, birds and animals, or even the smallest insects or worms in my Western Land..."

"My second vow is that when I become a saint, all beings in my Western Land will be of one mind, free from jealousy, anger, greed, and delusion..."

"The third wish..."

"The fourth wish..."

……

Great vows, like chains or steps, were solemnly recited from their mouths and merged into the laws of Heaven.

With each vow made, the heavens trembled slightly, and golden clouds of merit continuously gathered from Mount Sumeru.

However, with each great vow they made, the causal threads binding Jieyin and Zhunti became clearer.

From this day forward, the path of the two Western Saints will be inextricably linked to these forty-eight great vows, inseparable for eternity.

That was not only a blessing bestowed by Heaven, but also a heavy debt.

They will need to repay this debt of merit from Heaven over countless years to come.

When the final great vow was uttered with difficulty by Jieyin and Zhunti, the golden cloud of merit finally accumulated to a certain critical point.

boom!

Suddenly, all the boundless merit within the golden cloud of merit fell upon the heads of Jieyin and Zhunti.

Although they were not as awe-inspiring as the Three Pure Ones' ascension to sainthood, their enormous phantoms still stood tall throughout the entire prehistoric world.

This signifies that the two of them have officially become Heavenly Saints.

However, their sacred positions were imbued with an indescribable heaviness, a sense of destiny that was inextricably linked to the Way of Heaven and to this desolate land.

Jieyin and Zhunti stood silently in the gradually receding holy light of merit.

From this moment on, at the cost of forty-eight great vows, they finally "borrowed" this holy position from the Heavenly Dao.

Similarly, they also became the saints who bore the deepest debt to the Heavenly Dao in this primordial world.

As Zhunti felt the vast and boundless power of the sage within his body, his face showed little joy, only a complex weariness and deep sorrow.

"Senior brother, we have finally achieved the status of a saint."

"Yes, it's done."

Jieyin lowered his eyes to look at the still barren Mount Sumeru at his feet, and at the vast and desolate western land, and slowly said:

"But the journey has only just begun. What is owed to Heaven, what is owed to all living beings... must be repaid in due course."

The Western religion was established here, and the two eventually attained sainthood.

However, this sacred path has been burdened with the most heavy future of the primordial world from the very beginning.

When absorbing merit, in order to make the foundation of Western Buddhism slightly stronger, Zhunti transferred most of the merit to Jieyin.

Even so, after receiving and absorbing most of the merits, his realm was still far inferior to that of the Three Pure Ones and Nuwa, only reaching the third level of the Heavenly Dao Saint.

In contrast, Zhunti himself was only at the first level of the Heavenly Dao Saint realm.

From then on, under the influence of Taibai's series of direct and indirect actions and changes, and under the rule of Heaven, the Six Sages emerged.

When the two Western Saints landed before Mount Sumeru again, Taibai immediately straightened his robes and stepped forward.

Although the two of them "borrowed" merit through their great vows to attain sainthood, their sainthood cultivation was ultimately real and not a lie.

A sage of the Heavenly Way can see through all the heavens with a single thought, and annihilate all living beings with a single breath.

Let alone a Taiyi Golden Immortal, even an ordinary Quasi-Saint is no different from a speck of dust in their eyes.

Moreover, the two Western Saints still belonged to the Xuanmen lineage at this time, and were nominally his senior uncles.

Whether out of courtesy or reverence for the sage, one should take the initiative to greet him at this time.

"Disciple congratulates the two senior uncles on attaining sainthood and becoming immortals, and from now on, may they be indestructible and become one with the Dao."

Under the radiant light of our two senior uncles, the Western lands will surely flourish day by day, and our lineage will endure.

Seeing Taibai's reaction, Maitreya quickly composed himself, stepped forward, and solemnly offered his congratulations.

The sorrowful expression on Jieyin's face eased slightly, and a rare, gentle smile appeared as he looked at Taibai and said:

"I am also grateful to you, my junior brother, for your guidance and reminders in enabling me to attain sainthood this time."

If you hadn't pointed out the feasible path of "borrowing" merit, the two of us might have lingered at the threshold for many more years, unable to find our way in.

"Uncle-Master, you flatter me. I have only done my humble best. The attainment of sainthood is ultimately due to the great merits and aspirations of you two uncles, which moved heaven and earth. How could I dare to take credit for it?"

Now that my two senior uncles have attained enlightenment, I will not disturb you any longer and will take my leave.

Having said that, without waiting for the guide and the preceptor to try to persuade him to stay, he bowed again, then turned around and transformed into a beam of light, speeding away towards Kunlun Mountain.

He knew in his heart that the Three Pure Ones had all attained sainthood.

The sage travels through the vast emptiness, knowing the past and future with a single thought; nothing in the primordial world can escape the sage's discerning eye.

Therefore, it is absolutely impossible for anyone to openly attack him under the gaze of a sage.

"As for the black-robed cultivator from before, his movements were as swift as lightning, and he happened to be hiding near Longevity Mountain. Such characteristics..."

It's most likely the Kunpeng, the one who reigned supreme in the primordial world for his speed. Who else but him could possess such incredible speed?

In Taibai's view, the two Western Saints were initially unable to immediately recognize each other's identities, mostly due to their preconceived notions.

They probably never expected that Kunpeng would actually dare to lie in ambush for so long in the Wanshou Mountain area, which is near Zhenyuanzi's dojo.

If they had known from the beginning that Kunpeng might be lurking nearby, suspicion would naturally have focused on this demon master.

"However, external forces cannot be relied upon in the long run; one's own cultivation is fundamental. In the future, one must not only diligently cultivate without ceasing, but also..."

It is also necessary to consciously cultivate one's own reliable forces.

Otherwise, if we encounter such a dangerous situation again, can we always rely on the teacher's intuition?

As Taibai flew towards Kunlun Mountain, he habitually spread out his divine sense.

This serves both as a warning of potential dangers and as an opportunity to seize any chance that may lie ahead.

Suddenly, the roaring sound and the fluctuations of colliding magic power coming from below interrupted his thoughts.

He looked down and saw about a dozen demon court cultivators on a plain below.

Led by two demon generals, they formed a battle formation and relentlessly pursued a dark blue-green bull demon.

That bull demon, though seemingly only at the early stage of the Golden Immortal realm, was extremely fierce and agile.

Faced with the fierce attack of two demon generals of the same rank and the encirclement of numerous demon soldiers, it actually managed to break through left and right in the offensive.

"Surrender now and join my demon court, and you may save your life; otherwise, today is your death day!"

"Hmph, you're trying to fool me! I'm just a lowly wandering immortal, not worthy of your demon court. Fellow Daoists, you should go back at once."

Despite the demon generals' attempts to persuade him to surrender, the bull demon showed absolutely no intention of doing so.

Moreover, he was even faster.

However, the demon court cultivators pursuing from behind seemed to have no intention of letting the bull demon go.

"To fight against overwhelming odds and maneuver across ranks, could this bull demon be some kind of rare and extraordinary creature?"

Taibai looked down and muttered to himself.
