Chapter 9 The Female Assassin's Choice
Everyone around was taken aback. Ya Laowachi quickly guessed Guo Liqing's intention, but the Mongol soldiers didn't quite understand.
The captain then asked, "Yan, aren't we going to investigate the assassin's background?"
Guo Liqing stared at the team leader. "Are you teaching me how to do things?"
The captain immediately lowered his head, "I wouldn't dare!"
If word gets out about what happened here today, I will hold you responsible!
"yes!"
"Also, investigate who those Mongol soldiers who just looted your belongings are!"
"yes!"
Guo Liqing looked at Ya Laowachi and said, "Summon a carriage!"
Ya Laowachi glanced at the official beside him, who quickly went to make arrangements.
Soon, the carriage arrived. Guo Liqing threw the female assassin into the carriage and then gestured for Ya Laowachi to get in as well.
The carriage proceeded towards Guo Liqing's residence. Along the way, Ya Laowachi respectfully said to Guo Liqing, "Thank you for your kindness, sir!"
Guo Liqing looked at the old man with ravenous teeth and laughed, "What are you thanking me for?"
"grown ups……"
"You traitor! You lackey of the Mongols!" the female assassin suddenly cursed in Persian.
Guo Liqing didn't understand, so he asked, "What did she say?"
"Insults!"
Guo Liqing smiled and said to Ya Laowachi, "Go on."
"My lord is kind-hearted. If word of today's assassination attempt gets out, the Khan will likely massacre the city's inhabitants again!"
Guo Liqing smiled and said, "You're so smart. I didn't ask you that because I doubted you. I knew you wouldn't do that!"
"Yes."
Guo Liqing glanced at the female assassin and said, "If this assassination attempt reaches the Khan's ears, even if it failed, he will still think that you people are unruly and will want to purge you again. Then all my efforts to protect half of your soldiers and civilians will have been in vain."
Ya Laowachi bowed his head and said, "My lord, you are wise to judge, this assassin was truly not arranged by us!"
"I know, but now we need to find out where the assassin came from." Guo Liqing stared at the female assassin and asked, "If you really care about the people of Samarkand, tell me honestly, who are you? Do you have any accomplices? Are there any other assassins who have assassinated high-ranking Mongol officials?"
The female assassin was slightly bewildered by the conversation between Guo Jing and Ya Laowachi. However, her hatred for the Mongols intensified. She glared at Guo Liqing and said, "You slaughtered my city! You exterminated my tribe! And you say it's for our own good? I truly wish I could kill all of you Mongol officials!"
Yalaowachi, utterly shocked, blurted out in Persian to stop her: "It's fine if you don't want to live, but don't drag us down with you!"
Guo Liqing smiled and said, "First of all, the outbreak of this war was because your Khwarazmian Empire disregarded morality and killed the Mongol envoy first, which is equivalent to you taking the initiative to declare war on the Mongols! You can't blame others for the city falling and you being killed."
Secondly, Genghis Khan originally intended to kill all of your people, but I saved more than half of your soldiers and civilians. Between 'all dead' and 'half dead,' given my capabilities, I could only choose the latter! Whether you appreciate it or not is irrelevant to me!
Third, if you had the ability, you could certainly kill all the high-ranking Mongol officials, but in return, the half of the people who had barely survived would continue to be killed.
Think about it carefully: is it more important to kill all the high-ranking Mongol officials and have a moment of pleasure, or to save more people from death?
The female assassin was completely stunned.
Guo Liqing's words were clear and logical.

"Neither!" the female assassin declared, puffing out her chest. "My name is Nashita!"
"Nahita?" Ya Laowachi exclaimed in surprise.
"What, you two know each other?" Guo Liqing asked, puzzled.
"No, no, no!" Ya Laowachi quickly denied, and hurriedly explained, "Nashita is a chivalrous thief here who specializes in stealing the wealth of nobles and rich merchants to help the poor. His name is quite famous in the city. Although I have heard of him, I have never seen him in person."
Guo Liqing laughed and said, "A chivalrous thief? Since you're a thief who robs the rich to help the poor, why did you come to assassinate me to avenge those nobles?"
Nahita remained silent.
Guo Liqing didn't want to say more, only saying, "Do you have any accomplices? Although you can't kill me with your skills, you are still in danger to other high-ranking Mongolian officials. We can't let the remaining people suffer because of your 'righteous deeds'."

Nashita nodded and said, "I'll take responsibility for killing you and Tore!"
Guo Liqing looked at Nashita and thought to himself, "You really think highly of yourself, choosing the hardest person to kill."
"Among you, are you the most skilled in martial arts?"
"No! Among us, Badr is the most skilled in martial arts; he's responsible for killing Temujin!"
Guo Liqing untied the ropes binding Nahita's hands and said, "I'm giving you a chance. Whether you save the people of Samarkand or kill them is entirely up to you!"
Guo Liqing adopted an indifferent attitude.
Ya Laowachi knew that Guo Liqing was their only chance. "My lord! My lord, you can't just abandon us like this!"
Guo Liqing looked at Nashita and said, "Don't the locals respectfully call you a chivalrous thief? Let's see if you live up to the word 'chivalrous'!"
Nashita hesitated. She had indeed carried out the assassination for the sake of the people, but she hadn't considered the potential consequences.
Now that she understood, she slowly said, "I can find them, but I can't guarantee I can persuade them. Besides, of the two, Badr's martial arts skills are superior to mine. If he insists on fighting, I can't stop him!"
Guo Liqing shook his head, saying helplessly, "Then there's nothing I can do! If he tries to assassinate the Great Khan, he'll be furious..."

Upon hearing this, Ya Laowachi immediately understood Guo Liqing's intention and quickly replied, "Yes!"
Nahita looked at Guo Liqing and asked, "What about us? Shall we go now?"
"No rush, come back to the manor with me first!"
