Chapter 55 Flowing Sand River - The Five Elements of Life and Death
Chapter 55 Flowing Sand River - The Five Elements of Life and Death
Namcha, confident in his strength, thought to himself, "Whether you're a god or a celestial being, this one sword strike will surely annihilate your soul and drain your life force!"
But when he drew his sword and turned around, something unexpected happened.
Golden light swirled above Li Fa's head, forming a layer of glazed canopy. Not only was his skin broken and blood gushing, but not a single hair on his head was broken.
Li Fa rubbed his forehead and said calmly, "The Traveler's swordsmanship is indeed exquisite."
Although he spoke lightly, he was actually quite shocked. This Mucha was indeed a master who could fight Sun Wukong for fifty or sixty rounds; his martial arts and magical power were truly exquisite.
Although he possessed gun-fighting skills, they were merely techniques for killing on the mundane battlefield, ultimately inferior to such divine martial arts.
Luckily, he killed the Yellow Wind Monster and gained the Vajra Indestructible Body, otherwise he definitely wouldn't have been able to withstand this sword strike.
While he secretly rejoiced, Mokcha's heart was also in turmoil.
Mokcha never expected that the guy in front of him would have an indestructible body.
Back when the Investiture of the Gods war ended, he, along with his father Li Jing (the Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King), his third brother Nezha, his second brother Jinzha, and Yang Jian, Wei Hu, and four others, a total of seven people, achieved physical immortality and transcended the mortal realm. This event is known throughout the Three Realms and has been passed down through the ages.
Of the seven, only Erlang Shen Yang Jian truly achieved a perfect and indestructible body, impervious to all magic.
Although the third brother Nezha possessed a supreme Dharma body with three heads and eight arms and unparalleled supernatural powers, he could not be considered truly indestructible.
As for himself, he only cultivated the body of the Yuanlong, and his physical body was far stronger than that of ordinary immortals, but there were still gaps that could be exploited, and he was not invincible.
But the person in front of me is also indestructible!
Mokcha, holding the sword, was momentarily at a loss, standing there stunned.
He had followed Guanyin for many years and had seen countless demon kings and lords, but only a handful could withstand his sword strike unscathed.
Even Sun Wukong, because he ate the peaches of immortality, drank the imperial wine, and stole the elixir of immortality, was also implicated.
He swallowed the five gourds of elixir from Laozi and used the Samadhi Fire to forge them into one piece, thus creating his second indestructible body.
Could it be that this person before me also possesses such good fortune?
Although he was filled with doubt and uncertainty, he was, after all, a veteran of many battles, and quickly calmed down.
He thought to himself: This fellow has an indestructible body, impervious to swords and blades. If I continue to fight him, I will only waste my magical energy and become a laughingstock. It would be better to capture him with my escape technique. Regardless of his indestructible body, I can simply trap him and take him back to Mount Putuo to be dealt with by the Bodhisattva.
Having made up his mind, Mu Cha flicked his wrist, swiftly sheathing the two Wu hook swords. Then, with his left hand forming the trapping hand seal and his right hand making the earth element mudra, he began chanting incantations.
In an instant, his body shone with golden light, auspicious energy surged, and the surrounding spiritual energy surged.
Seeing that he had sheathed his sword and made a hand seal, Li Fa knew his intention. He did not rush to attack, but simply stuck the Hunyuan Spear into the ground and stood with his hands behind his back.
Seeing his behavior, Moksha's anger flared even more. He cursed inwardly, "You madman! So arrogant! Just wait until I trap you like a caged bird, and see if you can still pretend to be calm!"
He made a hand seal, chanted an incantation, and shouted "Rise!"
But then, a hundred miles of shifting sands appeared, turning into a cage that enveloped everything.
The yellow sand on both sides of the Liusha River seemed to come alive, soaring into the sky and transforming into countless sand pillars that intertwined and formed a huge cage covering several miles in circumference in an instant, trapping Li Fa inside.
Li Fa was in the midst of it, yet his expression remained unchanged.
He had also read Investiture of the Gods and knew that Muzha was also skilled in the Five Elements Escape Techniques, especially Earth Escape, which he was even more proficient in.
Mu Cha's technique was indeed powerful, directly activating the earth's energy. If one were not a highly skilled cultivator, being trapped inside would be buried alive by the sand in no time, and even their primordial spirit would be unable to escape.
But Li Fa was not a fool.
There is an old saying that "when the earth element is strong, it needs wood to dredge it."
Earth is heavy and difficult to deal with; the only way to break through it is with the Wood Release technique.
Wood can overcome earth, wood can loosen earth, and wood can break through earth.
He had already mastered the Five Elements Escape Techniques, and at that moment, his mental power exploded. He clapped his hands together and shouted, "Sage Art: Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands: Top Transformation Buddha!"
In fact, the Five Elements Great Escape is not a simple escape technique, but rather a technique that can utilize the power of the five elements to attack or defend, escape or fight, all depending on the practitioner's will.
As for the form of expression, whether it is an attack or defense, it naturally depends on the imagination of the practitioner.
Who is Li Fa?
Before I transmigrated, I was a well-read person who watched all kinds of movies and anime!
Therefore, the idea for this move, "Top Transformation Buddha," was inspired by a technique used by Hashirama Senju from Naruto.
Sure enough, a Buddha statue appeared behind him.
The Buddha statue was entirely blue-green, and it had a thousand arms growing from its back, spreading out in layers like a peacock's tail. Each arm was very thick, with its palms open, covering the sky and the sun.
This is truly thousands of hands!
The sand cage of the wooden fork had already wrapped Li Fa up completely, but when the Thousand-Hand Buddha statue appeared, the sand immediately seemed to have met its nemesis and could no longer move forward.
Not only that, but all those thousand arms stretched forward at once, and with just a gentle push...
"boom--!"
The hundred-mile-long sand cage shattered instantly!
Countless grains of sand scattered and flew back into the Liusha River, stirring up towering, turbid waves.
Mu Cha's expression changed drastically, and he staggered back several steps, almost losing his balance.
Looking up, I saw the Buddha statue appear in the world. Although I was startled, I was not flustered.
After all, he was a seasoned cultivator who had seen all sorts of divine forms and supernatural powers by the time of the Investiture of the Gods.
Although the Buddha statue before him was enormous, with his keen eyesight, he could naturally tell that it was not a true manifestation of the Buddha, but merely a manifestation of Li Fa using the power of the Wood Escape technique from the Five Elements Great Escape, presented in the form of a Dharma image.
A thought struck Mu Cha: "As the saying goes, 'Wet firewood fears a raging fire, and a shrew fears a strong man.' Since this fellow has summoned wood, I might as well burn it."
He made a quick decision, forming a hand seal with his left hand and a mudra with his right, ready to unleash the fire.
Of course, it is not ordinary fire, but Samadhi True Fire.
During the Investiture of the Gods, he and other disciples of the Chan Sect had tried to burn Ma Shan with this fire, but Ma Shan was the spirit of the wick of the Burning Lamp Glass Lamp, which was impervious to water and fire, so they failed to succeed that time.
But this wooden Buddha seems to have been made specifically for his Samadhi True Fire.
Mokcha thought to himself, "This time, you'll have no chance of escape!"
But just as he was about to unleash his magic—
The face of the giant Buddha statue suddenly changed.
The originally blurry appearance of the Dharma is now gradually becoming clear.
The eyebrows, eyes, bridge of the nose, and corners of the lips were outlined little by little.
When Moksha saw that face clearly, he was struck dumb, and the magic hand seal in his hand froze in mid-air.
That was clearly—
The Dharma form of Guanyin Bodhisattva!
It was transformed from the statue in the Guanyin Temple that Li Fa had simulated.
Guanyin Temple is one of the Bodhisattva's sacred sites, so the statues there naturally bear a strong resemblance to the Bodhisattva.
Moksha was greatly alarmed when he saw this!
I felt extremely terrified.
How dare he?
How could he?
He actually used magic to simulate the appearance of a Bodhisattva?!
