Chapter 52 Yellow Wind Ridge - Li Fa's Curse Execution
Chapter 52 Yellow Wind Ridge - Li Fa's Curse Execution
The Yellow Wind Monster remained enraged, but we'll leave that aside for now.
Sun Wukong, having escaped through earth magic, met Li Fa with a beaming smile and exclaimed, "Daoist Master! I've retrieved the hair from that yellow-haired rat!"
Li Fa took the hair and examined it closely. It was indeed several golden hairs, as thin as steel needles, each one bright and shiny. He immediately exclaimed, "Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! This is indeed the hair of this strange creature!"
Wukong said urgently, "Now that we have the hair, please, Daoist Master, quickly perform your magic!"
Li Fa shook his head and said, "My method still has many restrictions. It will take three days to show initial results and damage one of his orifices. If it takes twenty-one days, it will destroy all seven of his orifices and make him lose all his magical power. At that time, capturing him will be as easy as turning one's hand, and he will no longer have the ability to cause trouble."
Upon hearing this, Wukong frowned and said urgently, "Twenty-one days is too long! My master is still in the demon cave, suffering day and night, and barely getting three meals a day. If we wait too long, something bad might happen!"
Li Fa pondered for a moment and nodded, saying, "What you say is absolutely right. Elder Tang's safety is of utmost importance, and we cannot delay any longer."
Very well! In three days, we'll see which of his orifices is damaged. If his mouth and eyes are damaged first, that will be enough to subdue his supernatural powers, and then we can make our move!
Wukong was overjoyed and exclaimed, "Excellent! Excellent! We will follow the Daoist's plan! For the next three days, I will guard the cave and search for any unusual activity inside. If anything seems amiss, I will respond immediately!"
Li Fa nodded, then immediately flew away on a cloud and returned to the Taoist temple to perform the Seven Arrows Nailhead Technique.
He made a straw effigy with the four characters "Yellow Wind Great Sage" written on it, and lit a life lamp on its head and feet. Then he performed the rituals of walking on the Big Dipper, writing talismans and forming seals, burning talismans and bowing in worship, casting spells day and night.
The day after that, the Yellow Wind Monster felt dizzy and his vision was blurry. He thought it was because he had drunk too much, cursed a few times for bad luck, and went back to his palace to rest, not taking it to heart at all.
The next day, Li Fa continued to cast his spell, and Huang Fengguai suddenly felt his mouth and tongue stiffen, making it difficult for him to speak, and his supernatural powers became sluggish and difficult to control.
On the third day, black spots suddenly appeared on the straw man's body, landing right on its mouth and eyes.
Li Fa was overjoyed upon seeing this and immediately sent a message to Sun Wukong.
Without wasting a moment, Wukong arranged for Li Fa and Bajie to meet him outside the cave. He then used a magic spell to enter the cave by earth magic, revealing his true form. He drew his golden cudgel, swept down the little demon guarding the entrance, and opened the cave door directly.
Li Fa and Bajie then entered, only to find the Yellow Wind Monster blind, unable to speak, and paralyzed in the hall, having lost all his supernatural powers.
Overwhelmed by both old and new grudges, Wukong roared, "You wicked beast! You harmed my master and stole my treasures from Mount Ling! Today I will make sure your soul is scattered to the winds!"
Having said that, he raised his staff to strike down, intending to kill the Yellow Wind Monster with one blow.
Just then, ethereal celestial music was heard outside the cave, auspicious clouds swirled around, and a golden light descended from the sky, accompanied by thousands of auspicious wisps of air. It was the arrival of the Bodhisattva Lingji!
Holding the Wind-Fixing Pill, the Bodhisattva moved with light, lotus-like steps and shouted loudly, "Wukong, stop! Don't harm him!"
Wukong's golden cudgel stopped just above the Yellow Wind Monster's head. The force of the wind made the monster's fur stand on end. Hearing the sound, the monster turned around in surprise and saw that it was Lingji Bodhisattva. He had no choice but to put down his cudgel and bow: "Disciple Sun Wukong greets Bodhisattva! This demon has committed many evils, harmed my master, and is also guilty of stealing oil from Mount Ling. Why did you stop me from killing him?"
Lingji Bodhisattva lowered his eyes and sighed, "This monster is a yellow-haired weasel that attained enlightenment on Mount Ling. It only stole the clear oil from the glass cup and fled to the mortal world to become a demon out of fear of punishment. Although it has made a mistake, it should not have died like this."
I have come by the decree of the Buddha to take him back to the mountain, to confine him to reflect on his sins, and to atone for his transgressions. He must not recklessly break the precept against killing.
Although the Yellow Wind Monster could neither speak nor see, upon hearing the Bodhisattva's words, a desire to survive arose in his heart. He prostrated himself on the ground, trembling, and kept kowtowing.
Upon hearing this, Wukong hesitated, unsure whether to deliver the fatal blow.
In that instant, Li Fa's expression darkened, and instead of retreating, he advanced.
With a flick of his palm, the Five Elements Mixed Yuan Spear appeared in his hand, its body swirling with five colors: gold, cyan, black, red, and yellow, exuding a murderous aura that soared to the sky!
Upon seeing this, Bodhisattva Lingji was greatly alarmed. He unleashed his Buddha light and shouted sternly:
"Fellow Daoist! This demon should be dealt with by the Buddhist sect; you must not act rashly!"
Li Fa seemed not to hear, his eyes were cold, and with a flick of his wrist, the Five Elements Chaos Spear shot out and pierced straight for the Yellow Wind Monster's heart!
"Pfft—"
The spear tip pierced through his body, and demonic blood splattered everywhere.
The Yellow Wind Monster couldn't even let out a scream. Its body convulsed violently a few times before it died instantly, transforming into a huge yellow-haired weasel, with no trace of life left.
Wukong and Bajie were both taken aback.
Bodhisattva Lingji's Buddha light faltered, his brows furrowed, and he looked at Li Fa, his tone filled with anger: "Fellow Daoist! How dare you brazenly kill a fugitive demon from Mount Ling right before my eyes!"
Li Fa had no obligation to answer this Bodhisattva. With a flick of his wrist, he shook off the bloodstains on the tip of the spear, then sheathed it and transformed it back into a hairpin, which he then placed in his hair.
At this moment, the merit record is refreshed:
[Target of Extermination: Yellow Wind Monster (Yellow-haired Weasel at the Foot of Mount Ling)]
[Karma Assessment: Lower Grade B]
Rewards received:
[Optional Reward 1: Five Jiazi of Mana from the "Creating Heaven and Earth Technique"]
[Optional Reward Two: Indestructible Vajra (Supernatural Power)]
[Optional Reward 3: A bowl of clear oil from a glass lamp]
Seeing that Li Fa completely ignored him, Lingji Bodhisattva said sternly, "You scoundrel, how arrogant you are! This demon is a former subordinate of my Lingshan. Even if he has committed a serious offense, he should be dealt with by the Buddhist sect."
How dare you kill me without my permission? Do you not respect my sacred mountain and me as well?
Wukong, being a mischievous monkey by nature, said, "This yellow-haired weasel has been a demon for many years, harming the people of this region and imprisoning my master in a cave, causing him endless suffering. He is truly unforgivable."
"The Taoist priest is acting on behalf of Heaven today; even if he were to appeal to the Buddha, he would still have a legitimate reason!"
Li Fa then spoke calmly: "Buddhist salvation is the business of Buddhism, while slaying demons and monsters is the business of this humble Taoist."
This demon wreaked havoc on the mortal realm; its karmic retribution is clear, and it deserves to die.
Even if they belong to Mount Ling and have committed numerous evils, they cannot escape death.
Before the words were finished, the merit chart in front of them shone even brighter, and the three rewards floated in the air.
Li Fa's mind stirred slightly. The Vajra Indestructible Divine Power was a supreme treasure for the physical body, far surpassing magical power enhancement and the Cleansing Oil. He immediately silently selected: Reward Two, Vajra Indestructible Divine Power.
[Reward Confirmed: Successfully acquired the supernatural power—Indestructible Vajra!]
In an instant, a vast golden light surged into Li Fa's body from the void, his bones crackled, his skin glowed with a faint golden light, and his physical strength suddenly increased dramatically, making it impossible for ordinary immortal techniques and magical treasures to harm him in the slightest.
Upon hearing this, Bodhisattva Lingji was still somewhat annoyed and said, "Fellow Daoist, do you really intend to oppose my Mount Ling?"
Li Fa laughed and said, "It's not that I want to oppose Mount Ling. If Mount Ling wants to convert demons, it's not difficult. You just need to act as soon as possible. If I get ahead of you, I will definitely kill them first."
Upon hearing this, Lingji frowned. Firstly, he had only brought the Flying Dragon Staff and the Wind-Fixing Pill with him when he descended to the mortal realm. If he were to force a fight with this Taoist, the outcome would be uncertain.
Secondly, this Yellow Wind Monster has been cursed and has lost its spiritual foundation. Even if it is brought back to the spiritual mountain, it will be difficult to restore it. However, the face of Buddhism will be damaged, and the sect will still be unhappy.
After a moment's deliberation, the Bodhisattva finally sighed and said coldly, "That's enough! This demon's fate is sealed, and I will not pursue the matter any further."
But you have broken the rules of my Buddhist community today, and there will be karmic retribution in the future. You should think twice before you act!
Having said that, Bodhisattva Lingji stepped on auspicious clouds, his body enveloped in a surge of auspicious energy, and transformed into a golden light that shot into the sky, disappearing without a trace in the blink of an eye.
