Chapter 164 Fire Cloud Cave: Joining Forces to Fight Guangming
Chapter 164 Fire Cloud Cave: Joining Forces to Fight Guangming
As soon as Guangming finished speaking, he rolled up his sleeves and covered Red Boy with them.
Seeing the situation was dire, Li Fa leaped forward, drew his Five Elements Spear to block the way, and shouted, "How dare you!!!"
Guangming snorted coldly: "Overestimating yourself!"
With a flick of his finger, a beam of clear light shot out, heading straight for Li Fa.
Although Li Fa possessed an indestructible body, he dared not take the blow head-on and quickly dodged to the side.
But then the light struck Mount Hao with a deafening roar, creating a hole in the mountain.
Upon seeing this, Red Boy was terrified and nearly lost his mind. Without the slightest hesitation, he opened his mouth and spewed out a stream of Samadhi True Fire, which, along with a cloud of thick smoke, rushed straight towards Guangming.
Taking advantage of Guangming's wave of his sleeve to disperse the fireworks, Red Boy leaped into the air, transforming into a streak of fire, and fled.
"You wretch! Where do you think you're going!" Guangming roared in anger and was about to give chase when Li Fa blocked his path with his spear.
A cold glint flashed in Guangming's eyes: "Do you really intend to oppose me?"
Li Fa said: "It just so happens that I've already had a match with the True Man!"
Having said that, he grabbed his gun and gave chase.
Enraged, Guangming also drew the jade ruyi from his waist, shook it in his hand, and it grew to be twelve feet long before engaging Li Fa in battle.
This was a good fight:
This Five Elements Spear is a manifestation of innate spiritual treasures; that Jade Ruyi is imbued with the divine powers of an ancient immortal.
The spear rose like a dragon, stirring up the wind and clouds; the Ruyi scepter was like a tiger, shaking the mountains.
Li Fa's spear technique was exquisite, relying on his indestructible body to launch attacks with every move; Guangming's Taoist skills were profound, and he wielded his weapon with ease, pressing forward relentlessly.
The two fought for more than thirty rounds, and Li Fa gradually began to feel the strain.
The Daoist Guangming's cultivation was unfathomable. Each of his attacks was like a mountain pressing down on him. If it weren't for his improved foundation and greatly increased magical power, he would have been unable to withstand it long ago.
Guangming sneered, "You lowly Taiyi, how dare you act tough in front of me? If you know what's good for you, get out of my way, and I won't bother with you!"
Li Fa gritted his teeth and said, "How can I let you succeed!"
Guangming was furious. He shook his Ruyi scepter, which sent Li Fa staggering back several steps.
Li Fa felt a tightness in his chest and his blood surged. He knew that he was no match for this person on his own.
He caught a glimpse of Sun Wukong watching from the sidelines out of the corner of his eye, and in a moment of quick thinking, he shouted, "Great Sage Sun! Can you bear to watch your friend be in danger and do nothing?"
The pilgrim, who had been watching from the sidelines with a growing itch to fight, immediately jumped up upon hearing this, drew his golden cudgel, and shouted, "Old Taoist, don't be so arrogant! Take this from me!"
Having said that, he leaped up and struck with his stick.
Seeing the Monkey King join them, Guangming remained calm, swung his Ruyi Scepter to block the Golden Cudgel, and laughed, "Who do we have here? Isn't it that stable boy who caused trouble in the Heavenly Palace?!"
The traveler hated those three words more than anything in his life, and upon hearing them, he flew into a rage: "You shameless Taoist! Stick your head out, and I'll give you a thousand lashes from your grandfather!"
The three of them immediately engaged in battle.
This battle was even fiercer than the one before:
The monk's staff techniques were fierce, each move aimed at Guangming's vital points; Li Fa's spear moved like a dragon, blocking Guangming's retreat at every turn.
Despite facing two opponents, Guangming remained composed, wielding his Ruyi scepter to neutralize their attacks.
After fighting for forty or fifty rounds, the Monkey King was secretly shocked: This old Taoist is really powerful! Even when Old Sun and this plasma joined forces, they couldn't gain the slightest advantage!
Li Fa inwardly groaned: Just who is this Daoist Guangming? His cultivation is terrifying!
The three fought for another twenty or thirty rounds, but still could not determine a winner.
Seeing that the battle had dragged on without a clear victor and worrying about Red Boy's whereabouts, Guangming grew increasingly anxious.
He feinted, forcing the two back, then leaped out of the circle, coldly saying, "I'll spare your lives today. Once I find that wretched child, I'll settle the score with you!"
Having said that, he flicked his sleeve, transforming into a beam of light, and chased after the direction in which Red Boy had fled.
The pilgrim was about to give chase when Li Fa grabbed him, saying, "Great Sage, don't pursue a desperate enemy. That old Taoist's cultivation is profound; even if we join forces, we might not be able to defeat him. Chasing after him would only make things worse."
The traveler put away his staff and spat, "This old Taoist priest, I wonder where he cultivated himself, he's truly incredibly powerful!"
Li Fa said with a wry smile, "Great Sage, please calm your anger."
The pilgrim said, "Old man, I'm not trying to be mean, but I was on my way to that monster's cave to rescue my master, and you turned into that monster's mother again, which exposed me."
Li Fa said, "There are some difficulties behind this. Although the monster Red Boy has done evil deeds, he was also bewitched by Guangming and influenced by the innate essence of the Fire within his body."
I did so at his mother's request, and thus employed some methods, but I feared the Great Sage might harm him.
The pilgrim said, "You Taoist priest are utterly unreasonable! You're saving his life but risking my master's! And how dare you talk about 'eating Tang Sanzang' in the cave?!"
Li Fa said, "That was because I already knew that the Bull Demon King was the Great Sage in disguise, and I deliberately wanted to tease the Great Sage."
Upon hearing this, the traveler chuckled and said, "You're quite the stranger, treating this old man like family!"
Li Fa said, "I hit it off with the Great Sage at first sight, so we're family. But Tang Sanzang is still in the monster cave, so let's go down and rescue him and Elder Wuneng first."
Upon hearing this, the traveler slapped his forehead: "Oh dear! I almost forgot the important matter! Let's go, let's go into the cave and rescue them!"
The two jumped into the Fire Cloud Cave.
At this moment, the little demons in the cave, seeing their king escape, were already in chaos and dared not resist.
The traveler swept his golden cudgel across the land as if it were empty.
Upon arriving at the rear hall, they saw Tang Sanzang bound to a stone pillar. When he saw Wukong, his eyes were filled with tears, and he cried incessantly.
The pilgrim rushed forward and tore the ropes, saving Tang Sanzang.
The old monk said, "Wukong, you've worked so hard."
He looked up and saw Li Fa, and said, "Huh? What's Master Plasma doing here?!"
Li Fa said, "This is a long story, so I will tell you later."
Upon hearing this, Tang Sanzang nodded and said, "Alright! We'll do as you say, Daoist. Wukong, let's go quickly."
Just as they were about to leave, they suddenly heard shouts and curses coming from next door.
Tang Sanzang said, "Master, disciples, did you hear someone shouting and cursing?"
The pilgrim then slapped his thigh and exclaimed, "Oh no, I forgot about Pigsy!"
Then they moved to a side hall, where a large leather bag hung from the beam, and from inside came Pigsy's cursing voice: "You wicked monster! When I get out, I'll raze this cave to the ground!"
The traveler laughed heartily and quickly tore the rope.
The leather bag landed on the ground, and Pigsy rolled out of it, covered in dust and looking utterly disheveled.
Upon seeing the pilgrim, he cursed, "You wretched monkey! Why are you only now coming to rescue me? I'm suffocating to death in this bag!"
The pilgrim laughed, "Fool, if I hadn't arrived quickly, you'd be steamed and served as a snack!"
Li Fa stepped forward and said, "Gentlemen, this place is not safe to stay any longer. Let's leave quickly."
Tang Sanzang nodded and said, "The Taoist priest is right. Wukong, Bajie, let's go quickly."
After leaving the Fire Cloud Cave, the group found Sha Wujing, led their horses and carried their loads down the No. 1 Mountain, and rested in a secluded valley in the distance.
Tang Sanzang sat on the rock, catching his breath, and asked, "Wukong, how did you subdue the demon, and how did you meet the Taoist priest?"
The traveler then recounted the events that had transpired, including Li Fa's transformation into Princess Iron Fan, the appearance of the Taoist Master Guangming, and Red Boy's escape, detailing each instance in detail.
