Chapter 131 Lotus Cave - The Arhat's Demise
Chapter 131 Lotus Cave - The Arhat's Demise
Wukong slammed his golden cudgel into the ground and laughed loudly, "You think your bottle can hold me? Take this!"
Golden Horn hastily drew his Seven Star Sword and charged forward. A fierce battle ensued between the two inside the cave.
This golden cudgel was originally the iron needle that stabilizes the sea; that seven-star sword was a weapon from Laozi's furnace.
The cudgel and sword clashed, clanging and clashing; the sword went and the cudgel met, sparks flew everywhere.
The two fought, neither willing to give in.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Li Fa saw that Wukong had made a move, so he wiped his face, revealing his true form. He smiled and looked at Fu Hu, cupping his hands and saying, "Fu Hu, I greet you."
Fu Hu finally understood. He gritted his teeth and cursed, "It really is you! You thief, state your name!"
Li Fa drew his Five Elements Spear and said, "This humble Taoist, Deng Li, has been waiting for you. What do you intend to do?"
The tiger-riding man said, "I'm going to take your life!"
Li Fa was afraid that fighting inside the cave might accidentally injure Tang Sanzang, and he was also afraid of revealing his true identity in front of the master and his disciples, so he said, "Let's fight then, come out and fight together."
Without another word, he flew out of the cave.
Upon seeing this, Fu Hu quickly caught up.
The two arrived in mid-air, and the Arhat revealed his true form, indeed a fat monk.
But he didn't even bother with his iron cudgel; instead, he swung his own natal Zen staff and charged into battle.
This was a good fight:
This Five Elements Spear is a manifestation of innate spiritual treasures; that Demon-Subduing Staff contains divine powers from the Western Paradise.
The spear rises like a dragon lightly probing its claws; the staff falls like a tiger fiercely turning over.
One was driven by revenge, wanting to devour the enemy's flesh; the other, for self-preservation, vowed to kill the enemy.
Spears and staffs came and went, golden light fell in disarray; staffs went and spears met, auspicious clouds flew in abundance.
They fought until the sun and moon lost their light, and the world changed color.
The two fought back and forth in mid-air for more than thirty rounds, neither gaining the upper hand.
The Arhat Subduing Tiger thought to himself: This fellow is indeed extraordinary, with superb martial arts and profound magical power. If we were to fight head-on, it would be difficult to determine a winner in a short time. Perhaps I should use a strategy.
He feinted, then turned and left.
Li Fa wasn't about to let him go, and shouted, "Don't run!"
He drew his gun and gave chase.
Fu Hu was secretly delighted and quietly took out a steel rod from his sleeve.
It turns out that this stick can change size; at this moment, it has shrunk to about a foot long.
Seeing Li Fa chasing after him, he took out a small stick, turned around, glared at Li Fa, and struck him.
Seeing Fu Hu leave, Li Fa became wary; when the copper and iron rod came at him, he dodged to the side, passing by his ear.
Seeing that his plan had failed, Fu Hu had no choice but to turn around and fight again.
After fighting for another ten or so rounds, Li Fa pretended to be outmatched and turned to run away.
But Fu Hu arrived again.
Li Fa then summoned the overturned water bowl and threw it back at Fuhu.
This alms bowl is also a primordial treasure. Although it is not a weapon, it is incredibly hard. If it is thrown at you, even someone with a copper head and iron brain will be stunned.
Fortunately, Fu Hu was prepared and dodged the hidden weapon.
The two then engaged in another battle in mid-air.
Meanwhile, the two were fighting, and Golden Horn was fighting desperately. In addition, four or five hundred monsters from the cave attacked together, forcing the Great Sage to come out of the cave.
Wow, Great Sage! He used a clone technique, plucked about ten hairs, blew on them and they transformed into about ten Great Sages, who then attacked the little monsters.
That little monster was like a sheep encountering a tiger, or a rabbit seeing an eagle; how could it withstand such a sweep?
In less than an hour, the Great Sage had wiped them out.
Seeing this, Golden Horn realized something was wrong, jumped out of the circle, raised his jade bottle high, and said, "You monkey, come here. I won't fight you, but if I call your name, will you dare to answer?"
The traveler knew that the jade bottle was fake, and laughed, "If you call me, I will answer; but if I call you, will you answer?"
Golden Horn said, "I called you because I have a precious jade bottle that can hold people; you called me, but what do you have?"
The traveler said, "I also have a jade bottle."
Jinjiao said, "Since you have it, show it to me."
The pilgrim then took out a jade bottle from his sleeve and said, "You scoundrel, look!"
He waved it briefly, then hid it in his sleeve, lest he try to snatch it.
Upon seeing this, Golden Horn exclaimed in surprise, "Where did he get his jade bottle? How come it's the same as mine?"
He then asked sternly, "Where did you get that jade bottle?"
The traveler, unaware of his origins, immediately asked, "Where did you get that jade bottle?"
Jinjiao, unaware of Jinjiao's wisdom, took it as a simple truth and began to explain: "This precious jade bottle of mine is no ordinary object! It was created when chaos was first separated and heaven and earth were created. The Supreme Ancestor assisted the Sage Nuwa in refining stones to mend the sky and save all living beings in the mortal world."
Upon reaching the Kun Palace and Dui Earth, one finds a jade pool beside a spiritual spring, where a piece of mutton-fat jade was born. It was taken and carved into this bottle, containing innate essence, capable of giving birth to all things and warding off all evil.
Upon hearing this, the Great Sage retorted, "My jade bottle also came from there."
The demon asked, "How do you know?"
The Great Sage said, "Since the beginning of the separation of the pure and the impure, the heavens were not full in the northwest, and the earth was not full in the southeast. The Supreme Dao Ancestor helped Nuwa to mend the gaps in the heavens. When they arrived at the shore of Yao, there was a piece of mutton-fat jade. Laozi took it, but there was another piece below. I got one, which is my grandfather, and yours is your grandson."
The monster said, "Let alone grandfather and grandson, anything that can be disguised as a human is a precious treasure."
The Great Sage said, "You're right, so I'll let you pretend first."
The monster was overjoyed and leaped into the air, holding the jade bottle in his hand, and called out, "Sun Wukong!"
Upon hearing this, the Great Sage responded eight or nine times in quick succession, but he could not pretend to be asleep.
The golden horn fell down, stamping its feet and pounding its chest, crying out, "Heavens! They say the world won't change! The grandson is afraid of his grandfather, so he doesn't dare pretend anymore!"
The pilgrim laughed and said, "You can put it away now. It'll be your turn when I call you."
He swiftly somersaulted, leaped up, turned the bottle upside down with the bottom facing the sky and the mouth facing the ground, fixed his gaze on the demon, and shouted, "Golden Horn King!"
The monster dared not shut its mouth, and could only respond with a sound. It was then quickly stuffed inside, and the traveler closed the lid, secretly delighted, thinking, "My child, you've finally tried something new today!"
Meanwhile, in mid-air, Li Fa and Fu Hu fought for several more rounds. Fu Hu grew impatient, pulled out a Qiankun bag from his sleeve, tossed it into the air, and shouted, "Use this magic weapon!"
The bag grew longer in the wind, its mouth opening wide like a giant mouth, slamming down on Li Fa!
Li Fa was shocked and tried to dodge, but the bag followed him like a shadow and covered his head.
In the blink of an eye, Li Fa flipped his right hand, and the Two Elements Scissors were already in his palm. He then raised them upwards.
A beam of light, both black and white, shot into the sky and struck the bottom of the Qiankun Bag!
"Sizzle—"
The Qiankun Bag was ripped open by the Yin-Yang Scissors, and air was leaking out with a hissing sound.
Fu Hu was horrified: "My precious baby!"
Taking advantage of his distraction, Li Fa thrust his spear forward. Fu Hu hurriedly parried, shouting, "I'll fight you to the death!" He swung his staff and smashed it down recklessly.
Li Fa raised his spear to meet the attack, and the two fought for more than ten rounds.
Having lost the Qiankun Bag, Fuhu became agitated and his moves gradually became disorganized.
After a few more exchanges, Li Fa feinted with his spear and then turned to leave.
Fu Hu shouted, "Where do you think you're going!" and chased after him with his staff.
Li Fa secretly hid the Golden Rope in his sleeve. When the tiger was close, he suddenly turned around, and the Golden Rope turned into a white light, heading straight for Fu Hu!
Fu Hu couldn't dodge in time and was tied up with a rope. Li Fa seized the opportunity and stabbed Fu Hu in the heart.
What a fine Arhat! He was driven to his death by hatred!
When the body dies, the spirit vanishes, leaving only a trace of true essence.
