Chapter 42 Who gave you permission to dress like that?
Lu Changgeng was currently burning the mountain demon with real fire while considering his options.
Killing this mountain demon is easy; a mere thought is enough to annihilate its soul with the Soul-Locking Seal.
He had indeed considered killing the child when he stood before the child's bones, but killing him would serve no purpose other than venting his anger, and it would be too easy on him.
After thinking it over, he temporarily put aside his murderous intent and decided to use him for other purposes. However, in his heart, the mountain demon was already a dead demon.
He then looked at Teng San Niang, who had just arrived behind him, and asked, "San Niang, where are my junior sisters?"
He had just scanned the area with his divine sense and found that neither the ridge nor the bamboo courtyard were there, but he could sense that they were still alive.
Ever since Ziying ran away to pick fruit, Lu Changgeng placed a synesthetic talisman on the seven sisters, so that they could immediately sense any life-or-death crisis.
Teng San Niang immediately bowed and said, "Reporting to the Immortal Master, the seven junior nuns were a bit mischievous. I was afraid of bothering the Great Sage of Zhenshan, so I sent them to Cuiyun Town and hired a tutor there to teach them calligraphy and painting."
"Didn't I ask you to teach me?" Lu Changgeng frowned slightly.
He knew Cuiyun Town; it was located at the foot of Cuiyun Mountain nearby. He had his clothes made in that town before.
Teng San Niang lowered her head, her mouth and nose almost touching the undulating peaks under her swan neck, and replied softly, "Reporting to the Immortal Master, my calligraphy and painting skills are limited, and there is nothing more I can teach the seven junior nuns. The teacher in that town is knowledgeable and learned, and the junior nuns should go further."
"Hmm." Lu Changgeng nodded. What Teng Sanniang said made sense, so he asked again, "What is their cultivation level now?"
"The junior nuns are all exceptionally talented, and they have all reached the peak of the Refinement stage. Junior nuns Chixiao and Lüluo have even broken through to the Condensation stage."
"Oh?" Lu Changgeng raised an eyebrow. It seemed that they hadn't been slacking off during the days he was away.
"You have done very well, Third Sister. I will not treat you unfairly. I know you want to learn immortal techniques. I happen to have a copy of the 'Yi Wood Creation Scripture' here. It is an orthodox immortal classic that can help you cultivate to the realm of human immortals."
The cultivation technique that Lu Changgeng mentioned came from the Seven Fairies who were soaking in the spring. Although the Seven Fairies didn't know many powerful cultivation techniques and supernatural abilities, they did know quite a few minor cultivation techniques for reaching the level of Human Immortal or Earth Immortal.
Teng San Niang was overjoyed, but dared not show it, and said with trepidation, "I only did a small favor, how dare I accept such a great kindness?"
"Alright, keep it. We're family, so don't make excuses. Come to the spring tonight, and I will tell you my story."
"This humble servant thanks the immortal master."
Teng San Niang knelt down and performed a grand salute, her full, round breasts colliding with the earth like a watermelon hitting the ground.
Lu Changgeng's gaze was unconsciously drawn to it, and then he noticed that Tie Gu was looking at him. He coughed lightly and looked away.
Tiegu was actually somewhat envious of his wife for having obtained immortal techniques, and was eagerly hoping that Lu Changgeng would also give him an oral immortal technique.
"Iron bones!" Lu Changgeng shouted in a low voice.
"Yes! I'm here, I'm here!" Tie Gu knelt down with a loud thud, kicking up dust, his expression excited.
Looking at the ugly, pig-like face of the Iron Bone, Lu Changgeng pondered that there were immortal techniques suitable for him, but he had not yet made any significant contributions, so it would be too hasty to give them away.
Then he spoke up: "Iron Bones! Did you know that mandrills eat people?"
Tie Gu was taken aback, then scratched his head and said, "I know..."
"Do you know why you didn't stop it?"
Tie Gu was completely bewildered. How could he possibly stop a transformed demon? He opened his mouth and stammered, not knowing what to say.
Teng San Niang took over the conversation, kneeling on the ground: "Immortal Master, Tie Gu is clumsy with words, let me speak for him. Both Tie Gu and I were at fault for not stopping the mountain demon in time, please punish us, Immortal Master."
Lu Changgeng knew he couldn't blame Tiegu; it was just a warning, a way to teach them a lesson before giving them a taste of their own medicine, so they wouldn't follow the example of the mountain demons and disrespect him, their immortal master.
"Third Sister, since you and your husband have admitted your mistake, you must accept the punishment. I am fair in rewarding and punishing, so I will punish you both with one hundred lashes from the mountain demon. In addition, starting tomorrow, you must move out of this ridge and find a place to live in Cuiyun Mountain. You are not allowed to return without my permission!" Lu Changgeng said calmly.
"This..." Teng San Niang was startled. At first, she was a little frightened, but then she keenly realized that something might happen on this ridge, and that Lu Chang Geng was telling them to deliberately avoid this place.
Iron Bone, however, was single-minded and said in a gruff voice, "Immortal Master, I accept the reward of slaying the mountain demon, but could you please not send my wife and me away? I know I was wrong..."
"Enough nonsense!" Lu Changgeng didn't want to say anything more. He kicked the still wailing mountain demon. "If you're not dead, get up! Get down the ridge and be at my command at any time."
Despite being covered in burns, the mandrill had no choice but to shudder and prostrate itself on the ground: "Your subordinate obeys."
Tie Gu suddenly interjected, "Immortal Master, when will the hundred whips be used?"
Upon hearing this, Teng San Niang quietly patted Tie Gu.
The mandrill glanced up at Ironbone, its red eyes devoid of any emotion.
Iron Bones, however, showed no fear and glared back.
Lu Changgeng, having observed everything, said, "Let's do it now."
A moment later, the mountain demon was bound by Lu Changgeng and made to kneel before the skeletons. Teng Sanniang and Tiegu each used their magic power to condense a magic whip and lashed the mountain demon a hundred times.
At first, Teng San Niang's blows were neither too light nor too heavy, but noticing that Lu Chang Geng seemed to be frowning, she gritted her teeth and increased the force, thinking that since she had already offended the mountain demon, she might as well go all the way.
Ironbone, of course, held nothing back, striking with all his might, making the mandrill howl in pain.
The mountain demon naturally hated Tie Gu to the bone, although he hated Lu Changgeng even more, but clearly didn't have the guts to do so.
After being whipped a hundred times, the mountain demon rested for a while and regained its mobility, then rolled back down the ridge on its own.
Tiegu left behind the woodpile and several buckets of water, and was also sent back to sleep by Lu Changgeng.
Inside the bamboo courtyard, only Lu Changgeng and Teng Sanniang remained.
There are some things that cannot be said in front of the mountain demon and the iron bone, but can be told to Teng San Niang, who might be able to help.
"Third Sister, do you know the Jade Pool in the Rocky Mountain?"
"I've heard of it, isn't it in the southeast of the Kingdom of Jisa?" Teng San Niang was cleaning up the bloodstains in the bamboo courtyard, some of which were human, and some of which were mandrill.
"Indeed, I have stolen the treasure from the old dragon at Bibo Pool, and I will likely find my way here soon."
Teng San Niang was startled and quickly asked, "Immortal Master, that old dragon is cautious by nature, but he is also vengeful. You should think carefully before provoking him."
"We've already provoked him, and besides, I won't return the treasure to him. You could say he won't let this go until I'm dead."
"This..." Teng San Niang was speechless for a moment, secretly thinking that this treasure must be something extraordinary, and at the same time she understood why Lu Chang Geng had asked her and her husband to leave this mountain.
"Immortal Master, how about we leave this place? The world is vast, where can't we go?"
Lu Changgeng sighed deeply. The Cleansing Spring was his true form; how could he possibly escape it?
Even though it has transformed into human form and now possesses a demon core, allowing it to temporarily leave this place, the Cleansing Spring is its source; without the spring, it is like a rootless duckweed.
If one does not guard the Cleansing Spring and allows others to attack this place, it will damage his essence and may stop him from taking human form.
Teng San Niang seemed to realize something as well, and immediately shut her mouth.
"Alright, I'm just telling you that you should leave this mountain tomorrow and take good care of my seven junior sisters."
"Besides, that old dragon didn't come here to take me by surprise. He might just be able to catch me off guard," Lu Changgeng said with a faint smile.
Teng San Niang remained silent, her brows furrowed, appearing preoccupied.
Seeing this, Lu Changgeng assumed that she was worried about the Xuan Yuan Locking God Seal if he died, so he told her to relax and that he would definitely unlock the Locking God Seal if there was any crisis.
Teng San Niang immediately said, "Immortal, you misunderstand. I am just trying to find a solution for you. I can go to Thorn Ridge to ask for the help of Master Jin Jie. I hope he can lend a hand out of consideration for our past relationship."
Lu Changgeng shook his head. That Jingjie Gong could drive you away because of a poem scroll, how could he possibly value your relationship?
"Alright, you don't need to worry. I'll handle this myself. Go and make your preparations, and come to the spring tonight to wait for me."
"Yes."
-
That night, the moon was bright and the stars were few.
Having nothing else to do, Lu Changgeng had already been waiting by the spring, sitting cross-legged in meditation.
Before long, the sound of footsteps rustling on fallen leaves could be heard in the distance.
Lu Changgeng opened his eyes and suddenly felt a surge of evil fire rising in his dantian, which made him somewhat agitated.
It turned out to be Teng San Niang walking over, wearing a semi-transparent mesh dress.
"No, where did you get these clothes? Who told you to dress like that?"
