Journey to the West: Black Six Ears

036. A Steadfast Zen Mind

036. A Steadfast Zen Mind

King Yellow Wind stared blankly at Pigsy.

He never expected that Pigsy would have the idea of marrying into the family.

Although he didn't have Sun Wukong's fiery eyes, the Yellow Wind King was, after all, a spirit creature by the Buddha's side.

At first glance, it's clear that these women are no ordinary people.

Even if they are not Bodhisattvas, they are still inextricably linked to Bodhisattvas.

With such a deity appearing here, it's obvious that this will be another tribulation for Xuanzang.

However, even the two mortal followers were not affected by this calamity, and as a result, Pigsy was completely confused.

The yellow-haired weasel was stunned.

For a moment, he truly didn't know whether Pigsy was playing a prank or whether he genuinely believed he could find true love on the journey to the West.

Xuanzang sat in the chair, looking like a child startled by thunder or a toad drenched in rain, just staring blankly, rolling his eyes and looking up.

Wukong stood aside, observing coldly.

The two attendants only cared about Xuanzang and completely disregarded others.

Only Pigsy stared intently at the woman with his beady green eyes.

"Bajie, this family is a bit special."

King Yellow Wind, seeing that the pig had come closer on its own initiative, cautiously offered a word of advice.

Upon hearing what the Yellow Wind King said, Pigsy's face immediately lit up with astonishing joy.

He looked at King Huangfeng as if he had found a kindred spirit:

"Does Your Majesty also think I'm suitable to be this family's son-in-law?"

Yellow Wind King: ? ? ?

Did I say even a single word that you were suitable?

Seeing his reaction, the yellow-haired weasel opened its mouth but ultimately said nothing more.

He was well aware of his own identity; he had essentially forced his way in, so it was normal for him to be targeted.

He was initially a little nervous, but then he saw Pigsy going crazy.

"Pigsy, what abilities do you have that make you think you can be chosen by the Bodhisattva and accompany Xuanzang on his journey to the West to retrieve the scriptures?"

At this moment, a great deal of doubt and anger rose in the heart of the Yellow Wind King.

But soon, King Yellow Wind suppressed his dissatisfaction.

He was temporarily Sun Qiong's spy in the pilgrimage team. After he understood the pilgrimage better, he would consider how to proceed.

"That Six-Eared Macaque is much more anxious than I am."

King Huangfeng knew very well what kind of fate awaited the Six-Eared Macaque, who was a demon in his heart.

In such circumstances, if the Six-Eared Macaque can find a way to die peacefully, then he can naturally find one as well.

Unlike the stunned Xuanzang, the remaining people were faced with ordinary houses and manors.

Before me stood a woman with three daughters.

"I have left behind only fields and property, and no relatives or family members. Only my mother and daughters are left to inherit it. I want to marry someone else, but I can't bear to part with the family property."

"Since the elder has descended, I imagine he is a master and his disciples, numbering four to six. I have three daughters and wish to remain on the mountain to find husbands, keeping only the three of them. I wonder if Your Excellency would be willing?"

The woman glanced at the crowd and wondered why there were so many people.

Didn't Guanyin say that there were only four people in total, master and disciples?

Upon hearing this, everyone present looked up.

Pigsy's face turned red, and he wished he could jump out and shout "Me! Me! Me!"

Only Wukong stood behind them with a cold smile, staring at everyone.

The woman chuckled softly as she noticed the crowd looking at her.

"There are over 300 hectares of paddy fields, over 300 hectares of dry fields, and over 300 hectares of orchards in the mountains; there are over 1,000 water buffaloes, not to mention herds of mules and horses, and countless pigs and sheep."

Having gold and silver that one can never use in one's life is far better than having a brocade curtain to hide spring, so what is the point of talking about two rows of golden hairpins?

If you and your disciples were willing to change your minds and marry into our humble family, living a comfortable and prosperous life, wouldn't that be better than toiling away in the west?

If the former is merely attractive...

The woman's next sentence surprised everyone present.

Leaving aside Pigsy for now, the two followers, being mortals, were somewhat tempted.

Along their journey, they encountered quite a few demons and monsters.

The two followers knew very well that they were good at fighting thieves, but when they encountered those kinds of creatures, it was basically a matter of whether they were steamed, boiled, or fried.

As for whether Xuanzang could reach the Western Paradise, they didn't hold out much hope.

It's just a task; there's no need to court death.

The woman said, "My eldest daughter is named Zhenzhen, and she is twenty years old this year; my second daughter is named Ai'ai, and she is eighteen years old this year; my youngest daughter is named Lianlian, and she is sixteen years old this year. None of them are betrothed."

Although I live in a mountain villa, I am not of the extremely vulgar kind, and I believe I am worthy of you all. If you would be willing to open your hearts, grow your hair long, and become the head of my household, dressed in fine silk and brocade, it would be far better than those with earthen bowls, black robes, snow-white shoes, and cloud-patterned hats!

Upon hearing this, Pigsy immediately became anxious.

Hearing of such wealth and beauty, his heart itched unbearably. Sitting in the chair, he shifted from side to side, as if pricked by needles. Unable to resist, he stepped forward, cupped his hands, and said:

"Madam Jia, may we ask the ladies to come out and have a look?"

His anxious expression did not elicit a response from the woman.

She simply shook her head and turned to look at the others.

"We two wish to remain here forever."

The two followers exchanged a glance, hesitated slightly, but still gritted their teeth and spoke.

This place is truly delightful, but coupled with the seemingly endless journey to the West, for some reason my heart suddenly succumbed to weakness, and I spoke with a trembling voice.

Upon hearing the two speak, the woman smiled gently:

"If that's the case, we're still one short."

"Me! Me!"

Pigsy raised his hand, and with a swift movement, he bumped into the two followers, shouting happily.

Seeing him like this, Sun Wukong remained indifferent, and the Yellow Wind King also watched from the sidelines.

The two men turned their gaze to Xuanzang, who was sitting in the middle.

Xuanzang was still in a daze, as if he had lost his soul.

However, the two remained calm, for the gods of this place would not harm the pilgrims.

However, the current situation is not normal.

Yellow Wind Monster stared at the two followers. Although they were mortals, they were usually resolute. It was strange that they were so easily defeated.

As the Yellow Wind King was pondering this, he suddenly noticed the woman turning her head to look at him:

"This young man is quite handsome and charming, and he's very popular with young ladies. I wonder if he'd be interested in keeping her as his son-in-law?"

The yellow-haired weasel felt a chill run down its spine as it was stared at.

After all, it was a rat from Mount Ling, and besides, this calamity was specifically aimed at Xuanzang's Buddhist heart.

These bodhisattvas are naturally upright and righteous. Although he cannot see their true nature clearly, he understands that they are no ordinary people.

King Yellow Wind was momentarily speechless, unsure of what to say.

"No!"

Xuanzang woke up at some point, his eyes wide open.

At this moment, the monk's eyes were filled with determination as he stared directly at the woman, unwavering.

"Your Majesty hails from the Western Paradise, Mount Ling. Since you are tasked with protecting me on my journey to the West, how can you abandon it halfway?"

Distracted by Xuanzang, the Yellow Wind King was jolted awake from his dream, his face covered in cold sweat.

As for the other two followers, they were also intimidated by Xuanzang at this moment.

Xuanzang stood up, his gaze icy, his aura imposing, and stared directly at them:

"Have you two forgotten that the Emperor of the Great Tang Dynasty is still watching you?"

Upon hearing this, the two of them gasped in shock and nearly fell to the ground.

The two attendants suddenly recalled the Tang Dynasty in the East. Whether it was homesickness or the intimidation of Emperor Taizong, they finally nodded in agreement.

"We will certainly live up to Emperor Taizong's trust."

Having done all this, the domineering Xuanzang turned his gaze to the last person:

"Bajie, why don't you... become her son-in-law?"

Upon hearing this, Pigsy beamed with joy, and the Old Mother of Lishan also smiled slightly. Only Guanyin Bodhisattva, who was eavesdropping from behind, had an unpleasant expression.

However, dealing with this Pigsy is quite simple.

And so, amidst Pigsy's cries of "Mother!" and "Sister!", the group spent the night in the manor.

That night, Bajie saw Zhenzhen, loved her, and pitied her.

In a daze, he told the family about what happened in Gao Laozhuang.

I vividly remember that the woman had a strange expression, while Zhenzhen's face looked extremely unpleasant.

"Ouch."

Clutching his throbbing head, Bajie looked up and realized he was being hung from a tree.

Looking down, he saw the five members of the Journey to the West standing there, looking up at him.

At the same time, a short note flew by, and the Yellow Wind King read out eight lines of verse:

"The Old Mother of Lishan does not yearn for the mortal world, so the Bodhisattva of the South Sea invites her to descend the mountain."

Samantabhadra and Manjushri are both guests, who transformed into beautiful women in the forest.

The holy monk is virtuous yet unworldly; Pigsy is devoid of Zen yet still worldly.

From this day forward, you must calm your mind and correct your faults; if you become lazy and negligent, your path will be difficult!
