Journey to the West: Black Six Ears

023. Huang Fengling Advises Huang Feng Monster

023. Huang Fengling Advises Huang Feng Monster

"Such a thing is true!"

The Yellow Wind Monster was startled.

He fears nothing else but the Bodhisattva Lingji, who has the power to stabilize the wind.

Originally, he was sent down to the mortal realm as a punishment, thinking that if he behaved himself for a hundred years in this barren place with only sand, he might still have a chance to return to Mount Ling.

As a result of Sun Qiong's reminder, the Yellow Wind Monster was immediately enraged.

He was never a good-tempered person to begin with, and now he knows even more that being distrusted and watched by criminals means he's always at risk of being beheaded.

Having endured so much punishment in this small, lower-class place for so long, this is the situation I've been presented with.

From beginning to end, he was the one being schemed against.

"Buddha! Lingji!"

With a furious roar, the Yellow Wind Monster unleashed a sudden gust of wind.

This wind is truly fierce; it's chilling and the world is changing, with invisible and intangible yellow sand swirling around.

However, the Yellow Wind Monster quickly sat back down in his chair, his eyes flashing coldly as he stared at Sun Qiong:

"I still have a chance. Buddha's second disciple is going west. If I wait for him here, I can definitely blend in and become his disciple."

Upon hearing this, Sun Qiong clapped her hands and burst into laughter.

The laughter shook the yellow sand, causing the little demon to lose his footing and the cliff face to crack.

What are you laughing at!

Yellow Wind Monster, his face full of shame and anger, roared at Sun Qiong.

If he doesn't give a proper explanation, he certainly won't let this mortal off easily.

"I laugh at you for still not understanding; you can't participate in this Journey to the West."

Sun Qiong looked at the Yellow Wind Monster and spoke each word clearly.

Yellow Wind Monster took two deep breaths, suppressing his anger, and stared coldly at Sun Qiong, asking:

"Why do you say that?"

"Guanyin Bodhisattva had already chosen three disciples for Tang Sanzang, and it was already decided. You are just a tribulation on this journey to the West."

As Sun Qiong spoke, she pointed to the western sky.

"Tell me, if Tang Sanzang and his disciples came here, what do you plan to do?"

Yellow Wind Monster's heart skipped a beat.

He hadn't even considered what to do if Tang Sanzang and his group came.

At this moment, all I can think of is...

"Naturally, we would kidnap Tang Sanzang."

To join a team, one must first prove their abilities; this idea isn't entirely unexpected for a yellow-haired mouse.

In the eyes of the Yellow Wind Monster, his abilities were no less than those of any other monster.

Capturing Tang Sanzang would be a piece of cake.

"The idea is correct, but guess why Lingji is two thousand li due south?"

Sun Qiong's question, combined with what had been said before, immediately gave Huang Fengguai an idea.

Every hair on his face stood on end, and his tone became even more menacing:

"Is this because they don't want me to join the pilgrimage team?"

"Do you dare kill Tang Sanzang?"

This question struck a chord with the Yellow Wind Monster.

Since he wanted to join the pilgrimage team, it was naturally impossible for him to kill Tang Sanzang.

Not using lethal force means that Tang Sanzang's disciples are able to invite the Bodhisattva Lingji, who is two thousand miles to the south.

As soon as the Bodhisattva Lingji arrives, all of Yellow Wind Monster's fighting power will be useless.

How could a useless demon be allowed to join the pilgrimage team?

"So that's how it is. I was only going through one difficulty!"

Huang Fengguai was arrogant and conceited; he even dared to steal lamp oil from Mount Ling, which was incredibly audacious.

Upon hearing that he was being imprisoned in the barren Huangfeng Ridge and suffering because it was just part of a game, this monster immediately flew into a rage.

"What a Buddha! What a Lingji!"

The yellow-haired mouse slammed its fist on the table, and with a loud crash, the wooden table shattered into pieces.

After venting his anger, Yellow Wind Monster calmed down and looked at Sun Qiong with suspicion:

"And who are you?"

This person appeared extremely abruptly, as if he had come specifically to cause trouble.

Huang Feng was furious, but he had no intention of being used as a pawn for no reason.

Something was off about this traveling merchant in front of me.

Sun Qiong didn't hide anything; he did indeed need the help of the Yellow Wind Monster in front of him.

Sun Qiong reached out and gently wiped her face.

The transformation technique vanished the next moment, revealing the true form hidden beneath the illusion.

"Five hundred years ago, Sun Wukong, who wreaked havoc in the Heavenly Palace..." Sun Qiong slowly stood up, her gaze sharp as lightning, "...the inner demons."

"Inner demons?"

The Yellow Wind Monster was slightly nervous when he heard about Sun Wukong's havoc in the Heavenly Palace.

A person's name is like the shadow of a tree.

Those capable of wreaking havoc in the Heavenly Palace are by no means weak.

As a result, Sun Qiong followed up with the phrase "inner demons".

"I am the Six-Eared Macaque, and on my journey to the West, I faced the same hardship as you."

Sun Qiong's words made Huang Fengguai's expression suddenly realize something.

This answer also surprised him.

I thought this guy was some kind of deity I knew, but it turns out he wasn't at all.

"You contacted me because you want to collaborate?"

Huang Fengguai stared at Sun Qiong and asked in a deep voice.

This is the only answer that can explain Sun Qiong's behavior at the moment.

"Of course, neither do you want to die. Since we share the same goal, why not cooperate?"

Yellow Wind Monster nodded.

This answer did not surprise him, and it did indeed tempt him.

But the Yellow Wind Monster continued to shake his head.

"I cannot agree to this."

Under these circumstances, Huang Fengguai still refused, which surprised Sun Qiong.

Perhaps this guy knew he wouldn't die, and that his fate would be different from Sun Qiong's.

"Even if what you say is true, there is still a big problem: we are no match for Buddha."

Because it was born in the sacred mountain, the yellow-haired rat knew better than anyone the Buddha possessed such terrifying power.

He dared to be arrogant and domineering in front of other bodhisattvas, but in front of the Buddha, he would at most only dare to complain a few words.

"I didn't ask you to deal with Buddha."

Sun Qiong shook her head.

Facing the big boss now is tantamount to suicide.

"Then why are you looking for me? I'm right here, I won't do anything."

Yellow Wind Monster shook his head.

Although he was being watched, his best option was to stay put and not touch the pilgrimage team at all, letting them pass by.

Unlike the inner demons that must be overcome, the ordeal at Huangfeng Ridge is not important.

If Tiger Vanguard hadn't intervened, the pilgrimage team wouldn't have even noticed him.

"Are you really willing to accept this? That could be your chance to achieve your goal."

Sun Qiong didn't believe that this yellow-haired rat was willing to be a monster forever.

Even if it's Buddha's rat, it's still just a monster.

Even without making mistakes, there's still the risk of being manipulated at will; let alone making mistakes, which would only lead to being punished and banished to this godforsaken place, just like he is now.

"Even if I'm unwilling, what can I do? With Lingji by my side, I can't move at all."

The yellow-haired rat gritted its teeth and glared fiercely at Sun Qiong.

With the Bodhisattva Lingji nearby, even if he had extraordinary abilities, he couldn't use them.

The monkey clearly knew his situation, yet it kept babbling on and on.

"If you're not satisfied, come with me to capture Lingji Bodhisattva. As long as we can cut off his abilities, you can do whatever you want, and you can even join the pilgrimage team."

Sun Qiong stared intently at the Yellow Wind Monster, speaking slowly and deliberately.

After saying this, the Yellow Wind Monster's eyes flickered slightly.

How could he not be interested in the pilgrimage? If given the chance, he would naturally give it a shot.

"If you don't want to get involved in this, the best way is to kill your Tiger Vanguard immediately."

Sun Qiong's words filled Huang Fengguai's face with surprise.

His Tiger Vanguard was just an ordinary demon, how could he possibly disobey orders and attack the pilgrims?

"Don't you think about it? Why is it that even though Bodhisattva Lingji is two thousand miles to the south, there's no one watching you? This is a calamity that you can't simply avoid by not wanting to participate."

This doesn't make any sense, and Yellow Wind Monster still shook his head.

Compared to this sudden appearance of Sun Wukong's inner demons, he would rather trust Tiger Vanguard in every respect.

"I'm a vanguard, how could I possibly have the guts?"

"However, if you produce evidence, I will go with you to arrest Lingji."
