Chapter 144: Full fund
Chapter 144: Full fund
Ray explained how he had gotten his hands on the formula; she already knew about the festival, making his job easier.
"So why is Fereya not buying it?"
"Simple, crafting it is not possible." Ray gave her a paper. "This is the amount of energy you need constantly for a whole day to stabilize it."
Taking out her glasses from her pockets, she started to read. "That’s 5 percent of the energy that the sun produces in a minute."
"It’s not working without infinite resources put into it, and you need to ask if it’s worth it." Ray’s smile grew wider. "But my offer is an opportunity. Instead of a lab that might have a chance of crafting it, spend that number on me."
"You think too highly of yourself, Blood Angel; prove to me that you can do it."
Ray gave her another paper, with full information on Pierce’s magic. "I can’t do it alone, but two of us might have a chance."
"Let me read this first." Cindi got to work; the details were truly how one would have made complex magic, but the circumstances that each step needed were too high.
"What do you need?" Cindi had her doubts, but she decided to play along.
"200000 dark crystals." He took a sip from the orange juice. "And support when I become an immortal."
With a giggle she gave back the papers. "A small land on Mars is worth more than the whole resources on earth."
"I think I said it badly, more like a partnership. I enjoy crafting; you seem to be the same. Together we can help one another."
Licking her lips, she stood up; with the breeze moving her hair, she looked like a burning angel. "How are you sure that you can become an immortal?"
"From the place that I know, the negotiations will fail, and you just like the goddess squad don’t want earth to be destroyed. That’s when I come into play." Moving next to her, Ray whispered to her, "I think that’s the whole reason you came here, to stop Goddess Squad from rampaging and help me win."
"What makes you think so?"
Ray pointed at the shield around them, "You said winning is about efficiency, yet this thing is anything but efficient! It’s made to protect you from any attack that might come, in other words, the artifact."
"Bravo, you have passed both of my tests. The negotiations will fail, yet my only goal is to get the location of the artifact. Find and destroy it as a part of our agreement."
"Fair." All the stars were aligned on the artifacts and the generals that protected them; with killing them, Ray would have the support of three factions at once.
A huge sum of dark crystals was sent to his system; counting the whole number, Ray had 560000 dark crystals.
"Half a million, a worthy milestone..."
"One last thing, when you come to Mars, you have to choose a side. It’s either us or Goddess Squad. With the kindest tone, she spit out her threats.
"The only side I will have is my own side." Ray hadn’t talked with Jade or Marian about it, but he doubted that any of the two would follow him to the planet, and Katarina had died by his own hands. Meaning he had to go there on his own.
"The future will be interesting."
"I should go; I would rather be level 9 by the time of the negotiations."
Swinging her hand, a portal opened in front of them. "See you there."
The portal swallowed Ray, not letting him say goodbye, and he found himself in the middle of his hall with Marin and Jade discussing a plan.
Jade hugged him tightly, not letting him breathe. "I just learned what happened with Katarina." Between the three, Jade and Katarina didn’t have any close relationship, but Ray was different.
With a whisper to her ears, he said, "I don’t know how I should feel; we will talk about it at an appropriate time, just the two of us."
"Promise?"
"Promise."
Marian asked casually, after a whole night of extreme sex, "A few signs were on her neck, yet in the room with all of them she didn’t mind hiding them." "How did it go? Aria and Scarlet went on some business. She seemed really pissed."
"Perfect, I have enough resources to level up. How about you guys?" Holding Jade’s hand, both moved to the small map.
"Kings of the underworld all are against the idea of a war against immortals, yet the king of silence didn’t say anything. With the help of the dark lady, I found the location of his factories; no one knows what they produce, and security around them is too tight for an underworld figure."
All the departments were on different parts of earth; destroying them all at the same time was a better choice for Ray. "Good, in negotiations we will find the location of the artifact too, but charging inside will be suicide. First, we should destroy these facilities."
Both women shook their heads, with Marian working on a plan to find their weaknesses.
Ray kissed Jade’s hand. "Go get a rest; I should get to crafting too."
"I will help Marian a little and then I will go." She kissed Ray’s cheek too. "Good luck."
Marian didn’t say anything as Ray left for the lower level.
The white cube greeted him with the red walls, "With level 9, only one step remains until becoming an immortal."
With 260000 dark crystals from Cindi and 300000 from crafting for the military and underworld, he had hit the enough number to level up. With so many sessions he had filled 3 milestones needed for his level up, yet that was nowhere near enough. And there were missions for each 10 levels.
Usually they were super easy to accomplish; even in his previous life he had done them rather easily.
Comparing himself to his previous life, he would have killed his previous version within minutes.
Sitting on the ground, in front of the white cube, he started to leak out his magic.
"Let’s start."
