Chapter 150 Dinner Under the Streetlights
Chapter 150 Dinner Under the Streetlights
A gentle evening breeze blew around the Yintai Plaza at dusk.
The queue in front of the stall is slowly moving forward.
At the stove, Lin Chen quickly scooped the fried rice into takeout boxes and pushed them onto the condiment station in front of him.
"Boss, your two servings of fried rice!"
Hold on tight!
Wang Hai handed the packaged plastic bags to the customers in front of him while greeting them with a smile.
"Alright, thanks, Brother Wang Hai!"
The customer took the bag, turned around and left satisfied.
"You're welcome! Next one! How many servings would you like?"
Wang Hai shouted, and the team moved forward.
Meanwhile, in a relatively quiet corner on the side of the stall.
Su Qingxue sat on a small stool.
Beside her, Tangtang fiddled with the treasure in her hands.
"Pretty auntie, I'm going to put the little paper boat and the little rabbit away now."
Tangtang held the pink origami boat and the clay rabbit in her hands, turned around and said earnestly to Su Qingxue, "I'll be very sad if I accidentally break them."
"Okay, Auntie will help you put them away."
Su Qingxue spoke gently.
She reached out and helped Tangtang unzip the little backpack.
Tangtang put the two handmade items into the innermost compartment of her backpack, and only after making sure they were securely in place did she pat her little hands with relief.
"Keep it safe!"
Tangtang showed off her two cute little tiger teeth.
Su Qingxue reached out and helped Tangtang zip up her schoolbag again.
"Tangtang is great, she's very careful with her things."
Su Qingxue praised softly.
Upon receiving the praise, Tangtang happily moved closer and gently rubbed her little head against Su Qingxue's arm.
Just as the two children were interacting warmly, the queue in front of the booth finally came to an end.
"Wang Hai, three servings of fried rice, and please give me extra crunchy radish!"
"No problem, we have plenty of crispy radishes on hand today, we'll pack them for you right away!"
Take your food and be careful on your way!
As Wang Hai greeted them warmly, the last few customers ahead of Secretary Chen left one after another with their takeout fried rice.
The very front of the line was now empty.
Secretary Chen, holding a black document folder and wearing high heels, walked forward.
"Oh dear, Secretary Chen!"
Wang Hai turned around and immediately saw Secretary Chen standing in front of him. He grinned and said, "It's your turn!"
The queue took a little longer today, sorry to have kept you waiting.
"It's okay."
Secretary Chen smiled. "There's no rush today."
"Alright, then it'll be the same as before, two servings of fried rice for you and President Su, right?"
Wang Hai took the order book and pen, and confirmed with a smile.
"Yes, two servings of fried rice."
Secretary Chen took out his phone and scanned the payment code posted on the table. "The money has been transferred."
"Okay, received!"
Wang Hai wrote it down in the order book, then turned to Lin Chen in front of the stove and called out, "Brother Chen, two orders of fried rice for Secretary Chen!"
Lin Chen did not turn around, but simply nodded slightly to indicate that he had heard.
His movements remained steady and efficient as he quickly prepared the two portions of fried rice.
Wang Hai turned around, grabbed a takeout bag, and was about to put the free crispy radish in it when he suddenly paused.
"By the way, Secretary Chen."
Wang Hai pointed to the takeout bag in his hand and asked, "How about this fried rice? Should I pack it up for you to take away, or are you two planning to eat here?"
Upon hearing Wang Hai's question, Secretary Chen did not answer immediately.
She turned her head and looked towards the corner of the side of the stall.
Su Qingxue was sitting on a small stool, listening to Tangtang talk.
Secretary Chen looked away and smiled at Wang Hai.
"Wang Hai, wait a moment, I'll go ask President Su what he thinks."
Secretary Chen said, "Okay, you can ask. I won't pack it up right now."
Wang Hai put down the bag in his hand.
Secretary Chen, holding the document folder, turned and walked to the corner, stopping beside Su Qingxue.
"President Su."
Secretary Chen spoke softly.
Upon hearing the sound, Su Qingxue stopped talking to Tangtang and raised her head slightly.
"It's our turn. I've ordered two servings of fried rice."
Secretary Chen stood still, his tone extremely respectful and approachable, "Wang Hai asked, are we taking this to go, or are we eating here?"
Su Qingxue glanced at Tangtang beside her.
Without any hesitation, Su Qingxue spoke directly.
"No need to pack it up."
Su Qingxue said calmly, "Let's eat our fill here before we go back."
When the pretty auntie said she wanted to stay for dinner, Tangtang, who was sitting next to her, clapped her hands happily.
"That's wonderful! The pretty auntie and Aunt Chen are staying for dinner!"
Tangtang's clear voice was full of cheers.
Secretary Chen smiled and nodded.
"Okay, Mr. Su, I'll go and talk to Wang Hai."
Secretary Chen turned around, walked back to the refill station, and said to Wang Hai, "Wang Hai, President Su said that we won't be taking away today; we'll eat here."
"Alright! That's great!"
Upon hearing this, Wang Hai's smile widened even more.
He immediately put down the takeout bag in his hand, turned around and deftly pulled out a clean folding square table from the trunk of the van, and then took two folding chairs with backrests.
"Tangtang, move aside a bit, Uncle Fatty's going to set up the table!"
Wang Hai shouted into the corner.
"good!"
Tangtang obediently stood up, moved her small stool two steps to the side to make room for Wang Haiteng.
Wang Hai strode over, unfolded the folding table, fastened the safety lock with a few clicks, and then placed two chairs on either side of the table.
He took a clean cloth and wiped the table twice.
"Mr. Su, Secretary Chen, the table is ready for you two!"
Wang Hai greeted them warmly.
"Thanks."
Su Qingxue stood up and moved from the small stool to the folding chair.
"You're welcome, please have a seat. The fried rice will be ready soon!"
Wang Hai waved his hand, turned around and quickly ran back to the stall to continue helping.
Secretary Chen walked over, placed the black document folder in his hand on the edge of the folding table, pulled out another chair, and sat down opposite Su Qingxue.
"Aunt Chen!"
Tangtang came running over with her little stool, placed it between Su Qingxue and Secretary Chen, and plopped down on it.
"Oh, Tangtang is such a good girl."
Secretary Chen looked at the little girl squeezed in the middle and reached out to gently pinch Tangtang's cheek.
The two adults and one child sat down at the folding table.
Lin Chen and Wang Hai were still busy at their stall.
