Chapter 389: Emerging Thoughts!
Chapter 389: Emerging Thoughts!
Chapter 41: Emerging Thoughts!
"Onii-chan, why didn’t we just kill those people from Chaldea?"
"Kingu, sometimes killing can’t solve everything. Besides, we still need him to help us take down Gorgon."
"If it’s Gorgon, she’s nothing to worry about. If necessary, I could handle her myself."
This was Kingu—someone willing to do anything for her Mother. Even toward the one she had called "Mother" for half a year, she would kill her without hesitation if it meant the revival of her original Mother.
"No. Gorgon must die, but that person must absolutely not be you. Do you understand, Kingu?"
"Yes, I understand, Brother."
Kingu understood, of course; she just didn’t care about the details.
Looking at the current Kingu, Akira sighed. This was also one of the reasons Akira had turned her into a woman. A child who was wholehearted for her Mother was vital for a Mother’s sake. And as a goddess with the authority of Reproduction, she would nurse her own children, even if those children were grown.
Akira was already enjoying these "facilities." As a man, coupled with a possessive sense of ownership, Akira absolutely would not allow a second person like that to appear—especially not another male.
Furthermore, in mythology and legend, Kingu’s identity was an issue Akira kept a close eye on. The god Kingu in Sumerian myth was the son of Abzu and Tiamat, not one of the eleven children Tiamat bore alone. After Abzu’s death, to fight the rebelling gods, Kingu became Tiamat’s second husband. He led Tiamat’s army against Marduk and was eventually killed alongside her.
This was the point Akira was most concerned with. Mythology reflects reality, and no one knows what the future holds. Therefore, it was better to extinguish those seeds from the very beginning.
"You’re back? How did it go?"
Returning to Quetzalcoatl’s territory, they found the goddess had been waiting for a long time. She was still at the peak of her power, so she was not to be underestimated.
"Yeah, we made initial contact, but the results weren’t exactly pleasant."
"Oh? What happened?"
"Nothing extraordinary. I was just held hostage by the moral high ground of the Human Order, so I acted out a little bit."
"Just a little?"
"Just a little."
"Well, alright. It has nothing to do with me anyway. Even though I love humanity, the person I love most right now is you. And humans aren’t babies learning to talk anymore; they’re adults."
"Heh..."
Seeing Quetzalcoatl leaning against his side, one had to admit that an Onee-san (big sister type) was truly wonderful. When one is young, they don’t appreciate the virtues of a big sister, mistakenly treating a little sister like a treasure. A big sister who is spoiled, understanding, and attentive is truly very comfortable.
"By the way, Quetzalcoatl, do you know where Ereshkigal is?"
"Ereshkigal? She is, of course, in the depths of the Underworld. In Mesopotamia, she can’t go anywhere except the land of the dead."
"Then how do I get to the Underworld?"
"The Underworld is beneath the ground. With your power, if you want to go there, it should be quite easy, right?"
Those words immediately reminded Akira. Right, this was the Age of Gods; the land of the dead hadn’t fully separated from the world of the living yet. The Underworld was located deep within the earth.
"You want to go to the Underworld?"
"Yes. I really want to meet the female ruler of that dark world."
"Just ’meet’ her?"
Staring at Akira, Quetzalcoatl gave him a cynical look. It’s just lustful interest, yet he makes it sound like he just wants to ’meet’ her. After being together for over a month, Quetzalcoatl had understood a good portion of Akira’s character. This man, despite his massive power, was essentially a "Lao Si Pi" (a bit of a pervert); he loved beautiful women and had a very high sense of possession.
The ruler of the Underworld, Ereshkigal, was a beautiful goddess with an appearance identical to Ishtar. Toward a goddess like that, this man definitely had bad intentions.
"Right, where is Kingu?"
Quetzalcoatl noticed that Kingu hadn’t returned with Akira. The two had been competing for over a month, and since Quetzalcoatl was now Akira’s woman, she was technically her sister-in-law in name. For this reason, she suppressed Kingu in almost everything. If Kingu couldn’t take it anymore, Quetzalcoatl only had to bring up Akira’s name, and Kingu would become obedient and stop her tantrums. Toward such a cute "younger sister," Quetzalcoatl naturally liked her very much.
"She went back to Gorgon’s side. After all, the Final Master of Humanity has arrived; the wheels of fate have begun to turn, and her death is already certain. That will be the beginning of Mother’s awakening."
"Shin Akira, is it really necessary to awaken that Mother Goddess?"
"Yes, it is. Quetzalcoatl, if you can’t accept it, I won’t force you, because your Divinity is already set. But don’t try to get in my way, either."
"Fine, I won’t say another word. But as you said, my Divinity ensures I won’t change. So, can the humans in my territory be spared?"
"They can. Later, gather all the humans together. As long as they don’t leave this place, nothing will happen to them."
After all, she’s already my woman; I can grant this much privilege.
Not only that, but Akira himself actually had a few doubts. It wasn’t about awakening Tiamat, but rather what would happen after she woke. Through the Sea of Genesis (Chaos Tide), organisms called Lahmu would be born. Created from the "Divine Mud" of the Age of Gods, they were perfect living beings—no need for food or sleep—truly perfect lifeforms. Each of them was essentially a weakened version of Kingu.
However, these Lahmu were a pack of monsters. In other words, trying to discuss human morality with Demonic Beasts was an act of stupidity. But even though Akira had now transformed into a Demon God, his soul still leaned toward being human. To achieve his goals, slaughter, purging, or even the annihilation of a race was acceptable to him; Akira might even be more ruthless than the Lahmu in the original story.
However, hunting humans just for twisted pleasure, or exterminating them pointlessly, was a bit nauseating. Akira was somewhat unwilling to let his Mother awaken only to create a group of creatures like that.
If he truly wanted to form an army, his Shadowkhan were more than enough. The Shadowkhan warriors were currently no different from Lahmu; their bodies were filled with "Divine Mud." Furthermore, their division of labor was precise; they were the most perfect soldiers, far stronger than any Lahmu.
Most importantly, the Shadowkhan were the most loyal of servants—unlike the Lahmu, who ended up stabbing Kingu in the back. If it weren’t for that betrayal, logically, the protagonist’s group couldn’t have won. Kingu’s Enkidu (Chains of Heaven) had played an absolutely crucial role in that final battle.
As long as Tiamat didn’t fall into the Underworld, the rest of the plan was merely theory on paper.
